Gunpowder (such as black powder, smokeless powder and composite propellant) is a high-risk explosive during the production process, and places extremely high demands on the equipment's explosion-proof, anti-static, and temperature control.

Vertical kneader is used in some military or civilian special materials fields due to their good mixing uniformity, low speed and high torque, and closed safety structure:

• Black powder premix mixing
• Composite solid propellant raw material kneading
• Explosive clay, explosive paste formulation preparation

Necessary conditions for using vertical kneader to produce gunpowder:

1. Explosion-proof structural design

The motor, control cabinet, and junction box must be explosion-proof.

2. Static discharge control

Vertical kneader is grounded, and conductive copper strips are installed between bearings and blades to avoid accumulation of electricity.

3. Temperature control

Strict low-temperature stirring to prevent local temperature rise from igniting.

4. Spark-free parts

Vertical kneader structure must be free of iron touching iron (avoid steel-to-steel friction and ignition).

5. Slow speed and high torque operation

The speed is generally less than 30rpm to prevent violent stirring from causing spontaneous combustion.

6. Sealing and dust prevention

Prevent dust leakage from causing explosive mixtures in the air.
