Silicone Rubber Sigma Mixer Working Principle

  • Super shear force: Silicone rubber becomes extremely dense when mixed with silica, oils and crosslinking agents. Our silicone rubber sigma mixer utilizes a pair of mating ∑-shaped blades to generate immense tearing, compressing and shearing forces.
  • High-efficiency energy conversion: Relying on a high-power motor and a high-reduction-ratio hardened gear reducer, electrical energy is converted into mechanical shear energy, forcefully "crushing" the hard raw rubber and perfectly fusing it with fillers.

Sigma Mixer Design For Silicone Rubber Process

1. Solving the problems of powder absorption and clumping

Silicone rubber production requires the addition of a large amount of silica, but the powder is extremely light and difficult to integrate into the colloid.

Silicone rubber sigma mixe's special mixing trajectory continuously "turns" the surface powder into the center of the colloid, shortening the mixing time by more than 30% and ensuring the finished product is free of white spots adn lumps.

2. Temperature control management at extreme viscosities

Ultra-high viscosity mixing generates intense frictional heat. If heat dissipation is insufficient, it can lead to silica gel structural demage or premature vulcanization.

Silicone rubber sigma mixer employs a fully enclosed jacket and internal water cooling for the mixing paddle, ensuring that the material temperature remains stable within the required safe range even under high-intensity continuous mixing.

3. Addressing vacuum degassing requirements

Silicone rubber products (such as sealants adn molding compounds) must not contain air bubbles.

A reinforced heavy-duty sealing structure supports high vacuum operation up to -0.098MPa. Dehydration, devolatilization, and degassing are completed simultaneously during the kneading process, allowing the output material to directly enter the extrusion or packaging process.

4. High purity and zero contamination

Electronic or medical-grade silicone has zero tolerance for impurities.

All material-contact parts of silicone rubber sigma mixers are made of SS304/316, with an external agitator bearing design and special Teflon or mechanical seals, completely eliminating lubricant contamination and metal shavings from entering the material.
