What is static mixer?
Static mixer is a mixing device with no moving parts. It mixes various liquids, gases or high-viscosity materials by utilizing the principles of fluid diversion, rotation, and re-merging through a built-in fixed spiral mixing unit.

Static Mixer Working Principle
When two or more materials enter the static mixing pipe, they are repeatedly cut, rotated, and layered as they pass through the mixing unit.
The geometry of the mixing unit forces the fluid to change direction, thereby achieving uniform mixing.
Structural Components of Static Mixer
- Outer shell (tube): Typically made of stainless steel or engineering plastics.
- Mixing unit (inner core): Multi-segmented helical blades or staggered guide vanes.
- Inlet/outlet interface: Can be fitted with flanges, threads, or quick-connect interfaces depending on the production line.
- Heating or cooling jacket (optional): Used to control material temperature.
Advantages of Static Mixer
- High mixing efficiency and good uniformity: Materials undergo multiple shearing and stratification processes within the spiral unit, achieving a mixing effect superior to dynamic stirring.
- No dead corners, easy to clean: Simple internal structure, minimal material residue, suitable for production lines with frequent product changes.
- Can mix and react online: Ideal for continuous production processes.
- Customizable design: JCT can design different diameters, lengths, numbers of mixing units, and structural forms according to requirements such as flow rate, viscosity, and mixing ratio.
The following parameters should be considered when selecting a mixing medium:
- Type and viscosity (Pa·s) of the mixing medium
- Flow rate (L/h) and pressure (MPa)
- Mixing ratio and required uniformity
- Pipe diameter (DN) and number of mixing units
- Whether a heating/cooling jacket is required
Static mixer is renowned for their high efficiency, energy saving, and maintenance-free operation, making them an indispensable mixing device in modern continuous production lines.
Whether it's silicone sealants, polyurethane, or epoxy resins, JCT can provide you with integrated solutions from formula testing to complete line integration.
